Carolina® Coulomb's Law Kit
Through 2 investigations, students construct 2 electroscopes establishing the relationship between charge and distance while studying the underlying principles of Coulomb’s law and electrostatics.
Introduce electrostatic force using charged materials such as fur, silk, and glass. Students measure attractive force as a function of distance with the more sensitive electroscopes. Then they model the mathematical relationship, confirming the 1/r2 relationship between electrostatic force and distance by measuring angular deflection.
Kit contains enough materials for 10 groups of students and includes FREE 1-year access to digital resources that support 3-dimensional instruction for NGSS.
