Mammal Compact Bone Slide

Students can easily learn the structure of dry, compact bone using this prepared microscope slide. The cross-sectional view allows students to easily view the osteons, or the Haversian systems. The central canal, lamellae, canaliculi, and lacunae with osteocytes are apparent.
To prepare this slide, a bone specimen is ground thin and then mounted to the slide.
